Trinny’s top tip for luscious lips: make yourself look like a clown!

No, she’s not auditioning for the circus. According to Trinny Woodall, this bizarre device can be the key to perfect lips.

The gel patch is one of a number of tips suggested by the 52-year-old TV presenter in an online beauty tutorial posted yesterday.

She also recommends micro-needling and derma rolling, which use tiny pins to prick the surface of the skin, apparently tricking it into producing more collagen and making it appear cushioned and more radiant.

On her website Miss Woodall writes: ‘I inherited many good things from my mother: Cheekbones, being tall, and long hands. But I also inherited my prune-like mouth.’

To combat this, her video shows her using what is thought to be the Cherry Lip Gel Patch, sold by Etude House. The firm says it ‘removes dead skin cells and makes the lips elastic and moisturised’.

Miss Woodall, who is dating Nigella Lawson’s ex-husband, multi-millionaire entrepreneur Charles Saatchi, places the patch on to her lips for 15 minutes and then removes it, reporting that they feel hydrated.

The This Morning presenter calls the patch a ‘slimy huge mouth’ and says it has a ‘slight but not cloying, cherry taste’.

She also reveals that she has Botox ‘every three or four months’ to tackle lines from her nose to her mouth caused by bad acne earlier in her life and the fact that she smokes. Miss Woodall is seen applying a cream to her upper lip and then taking out a derma roller, an instrument consisting of a heavy duty plastic roller head covered in titanium needles.

Moving it gently around her mouth, she says: ‘I will take a little derma roller, I do this probably twice a week. I do think that derma rolling done in moderation helps because it is slightly attacking your dermis and saying, “Hey, produce collagen, we’re being attacked”, that’s how it works.’

Earlier this month former Dempsey And Makepeace actress Glynis Barber, 60, revealed that she uses microneedling to maintain a youthful appearance.

Others said to be fans of the treatment include actresses Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston and Naomi Watts.
