When the weather dealt its chilly card, freezing punters and fashion pundits at the Vodacom Durban July did their best to make the most of the event attended by more than 50 000 people.
A cover of cloud and a chill of 13ºC saw many in skimpy outfits make a bee-line for comfy marquees.
But the cold weather did not dampen the fashion spectacle, with South African designers going out of their way to interpret this year’s theme, Leader of the Pack. And, while some succeeded, some designs failed miserably.
The fashion at this year’s event could be described as a mix of royalty meets Africa.
