Perugia, Italy - The first man convicted of killing a British student in Italy is to give evidence in the appeal hearing of American Amanda Knox and her former boyfriend against their murder convictions.
Ivorian Rudy Hermann Guede is serving a 16-year-prison sentence for the 2007 murder of Meredith Kercher, a British student who was stabbed to death in the apartment she shared with Knox.
Knox and her Italian co-defendant, Raffaele Sollecito, were also convicted in the murder and are appealing.
Guede, who sought a fast-track procedure and was tried separately, has already exhausted all appeals.
Lawyers say he will testify at the opening of Monday's session. - Sapa-AP
