Kabul - A roadside bomb struck a civilian vehicle in the Afghan capital on Wednesday wounding three people, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The bomb went off as the vehicle passed a gas station in western Kabul, it said, without providing further details.
Taliban militants regularly use roadside bombs to attack Afghan and foreign troops in the country but the majority of the victims are civilians.
The blast coincided with a visit to Afghanistan by Nato's North Atlantic Council, the military alliance's top decision-making body.
Afghanistan has faced a violent Taliban comeback in the last three years following its apparent initial defeat during the 2001 US-led invasion.
In response, the U.S. has sent thousands of new troops to the country's south - the Taliban's heartland - 2009 and has urged other Nato allies to do more.
The spike in violence was an indication that insurgent attacks are likely to surge as some 17 000 US forces arrive this year to bolster the 38 000 Americans already in Afghanistan. - Sapa-AP
