Was this a deliberate act of violence?

A female linesman, now at the centre of a sexism row, was violently knocked to the ground by a Cardiff City football player during a match against Middlesbrough. The video shows the player running to keep the ball in play when he appears to drop his shoulder and steer himself into the female linesman. She is hit with such force that her head snaps back and she is flung across the pitch. Ungentlemanly, the player simply gets up and walks away without even checking to see if she is injured, let alone help her up or apologise. Some viewers have demanded that the player apologise for his actions. His agent, however, has said that he need not apologise for anything.

The crowd cheered as she fell to the ground, while she kept her composure and professionalism.
