Police in Soweto have arrested two men who stole a hearse, complete with corpse, and headed off on a pub crawl.
They were caught when their macabre transport ran of petrol on Sunday and the three women they asked to help push it called the police, The Sowetan reported.
The drunks told the women the corpse was that of a relative and that they were on their way to bury it at a cemetery.
Community Policing Forum's John Dlomo told the paper: "They failed to show us papers identifying the body and they appeared to be drunk." - AFP
