Hennessey is better known for working its high-performance magic on Corvettes and Camaros, but now the American tuning company has turned its attention to the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe.
Not just some mild conversion in which you may just feel a slight difference, this conversion truly brings out the big guns for the power war, with its output almost doubling from 415kW to 746kW, while torque catapults from 746Nm to 1286Nm.
Clearly, then, there is much to boast about on the performance front, with Hennessey claiming a 10.9-second quarter mile (with an exit speed of 218km/h), 0-96km/h sprint time of just 3.5 seconds and given enough road it'll reach 368km/h.
To unleash the extra urge Hennessey ditched the supercharger from the standard 6.2-litre V8 motor, replacing it with two ball bearing turbochargers and throwing in various other bits, including an air-to-air intercooler, high-flow K&N air filter, forged low compression pistons, forged steel conrods and crank, high-flow cylinder heads as well as an upgraded camshaft and fuel system.
Naturally the rest of the car's components have been upgraded to match the newfound urge. In addition to upgrading both the manual and automatic transmission options, Hennessey's throwing in a Brembo carbon ceramic brake upgrade and 20-inch alloys. The suspension is lowered too and the standard Magnetic Ride Control system has been tuned by John Heinrichy.
Finally, to distinguish this manic Cadillac on the road, the V1000 gets a CarbonAero wide-body upgrade as well as a carbon fibre splitter, diffuser, front fenders and rear fender flares.
This one’s going to be rather exclusive, with just 12 of these beasts being created for the North American market.

I totally love the rear design. Looks super hot!! Joe Cynic & Alf, with powerful cars, like this Cadillac, one doesn't use it for normal driving. And remember, design & looks is a personal thing. You might not like it, but that doesn't mean it's ugly in general. It's a personal taste thing.

I would suggest that all 12 cars go straight to the stock-car track as that is the only real use for it. It is also probably the ugliest high-performance car to EVER come out of the States.

But where the hell is someone supposed to drive a car this powerful? I think you will have to be rich enough to buy your own island where you can drive to your heart's content without any hindrance from the traffic cops, or else you'd end up swearing everyday as the guys driving German cars try to compete with you on roads that would not allow your car to fully express itself.

Now that's what could be called a "Yank-tank". Awesome. Just reinforces the fact that there is no substitute for cubic inches.
