Auburn Hills, Michigan - when Chrysler announced the first factory-supercharged Hemi engine, it was talking big numbers, such as 'in excess of 445kW'.
Now the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT is ready - and the SRT performance junkies have squeezed a mind-warping 520kW and 883Nm out of the force-fed 6.2-litre Hellcat V8, making it Dodge's most powerful V8 yet, in the most potent Challenger yet offered for sale to the public and, Chrysler claims, the most muscle-bound, standard-issue muscle car of them all.
It's also the first Chrysler product to come with two key fobs - a red one that unleashes the full-monty 520kW, and a black one that restricts the engine to 'only' 369kW.
Chrysler's quintessential muscle car drives the rear wheels through an eight-speed TorqueFlite auto transmission, and has an all-new interior inspired, it says, by the classic 1971 Challenger.
The Hellcat is the Top Gun in a broad range of Challengers, from the SXT, with a 221kW V6 Pentastar V6 and eight-speed TorqueFlite, to the R/T with 5.7-litre Hemi power and a choice of either eight-speed TorqueFlite or six-speed manual transmission and the 6.4-litre Hemi Scat Pack with 357kW and 645Nm, also directed by either eight-speed TorqueFlite or six-speed manual gearing.
Now all we need to do is to persuade those nice Canadians at the Brampton, Ontario assembly plant to start building them in right-hand drive, eh?
