Montigny le Bretonneux, France - Even for Nissan, maker of Europe's top selling battery car, range - or to be more accurate, range anxiety - is still an issue.
So Nissan is making quite a fuss about its 2016 Leaf, which has a 30kWh battery, giving it a nominal range of up to 250km - an improvement of 26 percent on the previous model's 180km or so.
Nissan Europe electric vehicles executive Gareth Dunsmore said: We're constantly pushing the boundaries of battery-car technology - going futher so our customers can go further."

The latest Leaf also has an uprated NissanConnect EV infotainment system in the Acenta and Tekna models that allows you to switch on the heater in the car before you get in on cold winter mornings.
And before you say that's not applicable to South Africa, just remind yourself how cold the seats of your car feel at 6am on Highveld winter's morning - although we don't think your Leaf will get as cold as the one in the video.
