Ford has posted a teaser of its upcoming Focus electric vehicle on Facebook, ahead of the vehicle's official unveiling at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show on Friday 7 January.

The Focus EV will be sold in selected cities across the USA from the end of this year and don't be surprised if it makes its way to Europe and other major global markets too.

Ford has not released any official information on the Focus EV as yet, but according to international media reports, it will be powered by a 23kWh lithium-ion battery, allowing it to achieve a driving range of 160km between charges.

The EV will be based on the all-new Focus range that was unveiled last year, and will have a few of its own distinctive styling details, including the glowing charge port shown in the teaser image you see here.
