Johannesburg - The South African Festival of Motoring scheduled to run at the refurbished Kyalami racetrack from 31 August to 4 September 4 promises to cater for all types of motoring enthusiasts - from prospective new-car buyers, to hardcore petrolheads and everything in between.

The five-day event is first and foremost a giant-sized new car showroom, but with a twist, as each of 11 automotive brands with an exhibition on site will have four models available for test drives around the circuit. These daily test drives with alternate with other on-track activities, such as high-performance car demonstrations, stunt shows and parades for various car clubs.

Organisers have also arranged a 4x4 track where new off-road oriented models can be test driven, along with a dedicated softroader track where high-riding but sometimes two-wheel drive-only derivatives can be sampled.

An Adrenaline Zone will be built for drifting, BMX, skate and motorcyle stunt demonstrations, and a Concours d’Elegance car show will see the most immaculately presented classic cars compete for a Best-on-Show award.

A selection of classic cars and motorcycles will also be exhibited in the Galleria area of the main pit complex alongside a variety of art works, including results from a contest for schoolchildren.

A special area has been set aside for younger folk, where a go-kart track will be set up together with driving simulators and other activities - that is if the kids aren’t keen on ogling displays of exotic supercars or vintage and veteran vehicle collections with mom and dad. For a more exclusive experience, buyers of special VIP packages can enjoy helicopter fly-ins from Grand Central Airport, tickets to VIP areas and limousine transfers.
