Porsche has finally issued full details - and pictures! - of the ferociously hyped Panamera Turbo S, including the ex-factory price.

Everything we told you yesterday is true: Porsche quotes 410kW (37kW or 10 percent up from the Turbo) for the four-door flagship's 4.8-litre, twin-turbo V8, thanks to new turbochargers with titanium-alloy impellers for reduced inertia, and revised engine mapping.

Torque has also been increased from 700 to 750 Nm - with an arm-stretching 800Nm (briefly) available on overboost.

Top speed is electronically pegged at 306km/h, and 0-100 is dispatched (in launch-control mode) within 3.8sec - but Stuttgart says fuel consumption is the same as the 373kW Turbo at 11.5 litres/100km in the combined cycle, or 11.3 when running on the 19” all-season tyres with optimised rolling resistance developed for the Panamera by Michelin.

The Turbo S comes with all Porsche's electronic bells and whistle, including dynamic chassis control, an active roll stabilisation system that reduces cornering lean, and torque vectoring, which applies a variable torque split to the rear wheels combined with an electronically controlled rear differential lock for better traction coming out of corners.

Servotronic steering is standard, as are a throaty sports exhaust system and the Sport Chrono package, which sharpens the suspension and throttle response at the press of a “Sport Plus” button.

Also standard are new 20” Turbo II rims with increased offset at the rear to widen the track, side skirts from the Porsche Exclusive range and a body-colour, adaptive rear spoiler. Even the inside is special - two-tone leather trim in black and cream or gray and cream is exclusive to the Turbo S.

All of which will cost €167 076 (R1.61 million) in Germany when deliveries start in June 2011; expect SA prices to start a little north of R2 million when it arrives in the third quarter of the year.
