VÄTH is out to dispel any thoughts that the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is purely a gentleman's car.

Its V50S tuning package for Europe transforms the E500 from a fast but refined sedan into the black beast you see here. Only trouble is it seems to compete directly with Mercedes' own E 63 AMG.

Its 4.6-litre twin-turbo V8, complete with a new charge air cooling system and reprogrammed ECU, puts out 382kW and a massive 810kW - up from the standard E500's 300kW and 600Nm. In fact its outputs put it straight into the territory of the 386kW/700Nm E 63 AMG, with which the modified car shares a claimed zero to 100km/h sprint time of 4.5 seconds.

The V50S, though, doesn't bother with that 250km/h speed limiter and as a result can run to 300km/h.

Yet it seems this modified ride is just as much about showing off as it is about speed, VÄTH having equipped it with a carbon fibre exterior kit and 20-inch alloys. Inside it offers a combination of carbon fibre and wood surfaces as well as a bespoke sports steering wheel.
