The world's poshest SUV is now available to South Africans, or at least those with around R4 million burning a hole in their pockets.

Targeted at royalty and rap stars, the Bentayga aims to offer the finest of everything, and despite its SUV status, on-road performance is on par with some supercars.

Powering this 2.44 tonne aristocratic carriage is a twin-turbocharged 6-litre W12 engine that pushes a mighty 447kW at 5000 to 6000rpm and 900Nm from 1450 to 5000rpm. That is enough, according to Bentley, to get the vehicle from 0-100km/h in just 4.1 seconds and on to a top speed of 301km/h.

The SUV offers no fewer than eight drive modes, for various on- and off-road scenarios, and cushioning the outside world is a multi-mode, height-adjustable air suspension system.

Bentley is also adamant that its new SUV offers the "world's finest automotive cabin", hand-crafted with the best bits tree and cow that money can buy. What else would you expect when it takes 130 hours to create each vehicle?

If you're sitting in the back, make sure to opt for the individual rear seats, with 18-way adjustment as well as massage, ventilation and adjustable footrests.

If you have to ask… pricing starts at R3 987 000 before options and you can view the Bentayga and order yours from the Bentley South Africa showroom at Melrose Arch in Johannesburg. The Queen already has hers.
