The Nissan DeltaWing is fast, agile and very fuel-efficient but it is also a bad-luck magnet.

We all remember the revolutionary racer getting punted out of the Le Mans 24 Hours in June after running faultlessly for more than six hours - here it gets almost destroyed by a GTC-class Porsche at Road Atlanta, moments after setting the fastest lap of the day during practice for the Petit Le Mans - a scorching 1min13.386.

It speaks volumes for the robustness of the DeltaWing's tub that driver Gunnar Jeannette walked away from this one - and that the Nissan Motorsport team say they can rebuild the car in time for official practice on Friday.
