Zuma congratulates South Sudan

Johannesburg - President Jacob Zuma congratulated South Sudan on its first anniversary of independence on Monday, the department of international relations said.

“South Africa will continue to support efforts aimed at ensuring a peaceful and stable environment in South Sudan that will create conditions for the entrenchment of democracy...” it said in a statement.

“On behalf of the government and the people of South Africa... Zuma... extends (his) cordial wishes and sincere congratulations to the government and the people of South Sudan...” - Sapa
