Vryburg - Three North West men accused of stealing four goats and transporting their carcasses in a hearse were each granted R500 bail on Thursday, police said.

Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said Sylvester Necholo, 32, Boitumelo Mofane, 24, and Kabelo Leburu, 40, would appear in the Vryburg Magistrate's Court again on May 16.

They were arrested in Vryburg on Tuesday after police stopped the hearse, from a funeral parlour in Huhudi near Vryburg around 1am. Police found four slaughtered goats inside.

The goats' skins, four goats' heads and a sheep's head were found in long grass nearby.
