Ficksburg - Three armed robbers are on the run after allegedly attempting to bomb an ATM, Free State police said on Thursday.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Martin Xuma said the trio struck at a shopping complex at Zone 2 Meqheleng, near Ficksburg on Monday at about 8.30pm.
They allegedly shot two people. A 28-year-old woman who was buying electricity was shot in the leg, and a 55-year-old man was shot in the mouth.
The robbers then fled on foot.
Xuma said both victims were recovering in hospital.
