Bloemfontrein -

An urgent review court application in the Bloemfontein High Court to nullify the Free State ANC provincial conference was struck off the roll on Thursday.

Free State Judge BC Mocumie held that the “urgent” review application by six ANC members was in fact not urgent.

Mocumie said the applicants had not explained why they did not approach a court after June 18 when the conference was announced.

She said contending that they were getting instructions and appointing attorneys was not sufficient.

Mocumie said the application had been overtaken by the provincial conferences which started on June 21, and the ANC national policy conference currently taking place at Gallagher Estate in Midrand.

The judge said she could also not understand why the ANC was not enjoined as a respondent in the application.

She held therefore that the matter was not urgent and that the case be removed from court roll. - Sapa
