Butterworth, Eastern Cape - A man's body was found near the Gcuwa dam, in Butterworth, on Friday morning, Eastern Cape police said.

Captain Jackson Manatha said it was found by Mnquma Municipal workers on duty near the dam.

His clearly visible injuries indicated that he had been “severely” beaten, Manatha said.

“It seems like he was kidnapped with a vehicle and dropped there, as there are no houses near that dam.”

Manatha said the man was found half-naked. He had an earring in his right ear. Police had opened a murder case. - Sapa
