Cape Town - The Bronx murder trial, in which three men are accused of murdering gay night club owner Bruno Bronn, was postponed on Monday due to the absence of a defence lawyer.

When the trial resumed on Monday, before Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe and assessor Jaco van Reenen, State prosecutor Carine Teunissen asked for the matter to be rolled over to Tuesday.

Teunissen said Fareez Allie's lawyer Arno Nel was engaged in another case and was unable to attend proceedings.

Willem Frederick John Coetzer, Allie and Achmat Toffa are charged with premeditated murder, and robbery with aggravating circumstances.

The State alleges the three strangled Bronn, owner of the Bronx night club in the Cape Town CBD, at his Sea Point home on Monday night, February 6, 2012.
