Butterworth - A 26-year-old man will appear in the Centane Magistrate's Court on Tuesday next week for allegedly raping a 56-year-old woman, Eastern Cape police said.
The man confronted the woman near Tutura village, in the Butterworth area, on Thursday night as she was walking to a relative's home to spend the night, said Captain Jackson Manatha on Sunday.
He allegedly forced her to his home at knifepoint, where he repeatedly raped her. She called for help from neighbours in the early hours of Friday, while the man was asleep.
A local community policing forum member arrested him and handed him to Centane police.
