Johannesburg - Four suspected hijackers were arrested in Tembisa on the East Rand, Ekurhuleni metro police said on Thursday.

A red Nissan Hilux was recovered within an hour after four gunmen hijacked its driver on Wednesday morning, Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago said.

“The victim was hijacked in Emoyeni section and also robbed of eight cartons of cigarettes and cash.”

An hour later, police traced the four men and their getaway BMW to Tembisa and arrested them.

All four, aged between 30 and 38, would face charges of hijacking and robbery and would appear in the Tembisa Magistrate's Court soon.
