Cape Town - A man has been arrested in Grabouw for possession of perlemoen with an estimated street value of R1 million, Western Cape police said on Thursday.

The 36-year-old was arrested on Wednesday around 7.25pm in Rooidakke, Grabouw while travelling in a white Toyota van, Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said.

He was expected to appear in the Grabouw Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Rwexana could not be reached for more information.
