'Hammer gang' strikes at Centurion mall

Pretoria – Five men have stormed a jewellery store in Centurion and robbed it of an undisclosed amount of merchandise, police said in a statement on Monday.

Police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said the men attacked NWJ Jewellery just after midday at Forest Hill Mall. They used a hammer to break the jewellery display glass.

Msimango said they fled the scene on foot.

No shots were fired.
