Johannesburg - The Directorate For Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) said on Monday that five suspects had been arrested for the murder of Constable Bulelani Dlamini in the Eastern Cape.

Hawks spokesperson, Captain Anelisa Feni, said the suspects, aged 24 to 47, were arrested on Friday and were expected to appear on Monday before the Mount Fletcher Magistrate’s court. Dlamini was 35 years old when he was killed.

“It is alleged they shot and killed Constable Dlamini during an armed robbery at Mount Fletcher in July 2015. The Police responded to a robbery and on their arrival a shoot-out ensued between them and the robbers. Unfortunately, Constable Dlamini succumbed during the shoot-out,” said Feni.

Feni said the five suspects have been charged murder, attempted murder, robbery and hijacking and added that investigations were still continuing.
