CApe Town - The Bruno Bronn murder trial in the Western Cape High Court was postponed on Tuesday because of the illness of a defence lawyer.

The matter will resume on Tuesday next week.

Three men are accused of strangling Bronn, owner of the gay night club The Bronx, in the Cape Town CBD.

Prosecutor Carine Teunissen alleges that Bronn was strangled in his Sea Point home on Monday night, February 6, 2012.

The alleged killers, Willem Frederick John Coetzer, Fareez Allie and Achmat Toffa, have pleaded not guilty before Judge President John Hlophe and assessor Jaco van Reenen, to charges of premeditated murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances.

The trial was to postponed last Tuesday for a week to this Tuesday, but when the case was called on Tuesday, Hlophe told the accused that one of the defence lawyers, Henry van Niekerk, had been hospitalised and was not available.

He instructed them to be back in court on April 29.
