Johannesburg -

Friday marks the fifth day of Oscar Pistorius delivering evidence before the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.

The Paralympic athlete is on trial for the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

He shot her through a locked bathroom door at his Pretoria home on Valentine's Day last year. He claimed to have mistaken her for an intruder.

On Thursday, prosecutor Gerrie Nel accused Pistorius of failing to take responsibility for any of his actions.

This was after Pistorius denied pulling the trigger when a gun went off in his hands under a table at a Melrose Arch restaurant in January last year.

Pistorius claimed that while he had the gun in his hand, he did not pull the trigger.

He also dismissed evidence given by his ex-girlfriend, Samantha Taylor, and his friend, Darren Fresco.

The two testified that Pistorius shot through an open sunroof as they drove from the Vaal one evening.

Nel also lashed out at Pistorius for only apologising to the Steenkamp family in court this week.

He said Pistorius could have arranged to meet them in private instead of making a public spectacle of it all. - Sapa
