Johannesburg - For more than four years, a man apparently obsessed with Kuli Roberts has claimed to be her “lil sister”.

His deception climaxed last year when he defrauded her. Since then, more people have come forward with their own stories about how they were conned and defrauded by a man who calls himself Nontobeko Ntobsie Rhoshi.

Six days ago, Kyara Dunn, who Rhoshi had impersonated, put a picture of him and a post on Instagram saying: “THIS IS NOT ME, I have been a victim of identity theft.

“If you receive any messages from a person claiming to be Kim or sometimes goes by the name Roxanne, know it is not me.

“The person responsible is known as NONTOBEKO ROSHI on Facebook, also known as NTOBSIE.”

Dunn added: “There is a case opened due to this craziness and he has put my life in danger. I have been threatened, insulted and everything else one can think of. If anyone comes across him or knows where he is, please contact Sandton police station 011 722 4200.”

Following the post, someone recognised the man and tagged activist and radio presenter Roberts in the post, which led to her sharing the information on her social media pages.

Speaking to The Star on Thursday, Roberts said Rhoshi had claimed to be her “sister” for years, but in October, the obsession took a criminal turn when he skimmed her card, copied it and went shopping and withdrew her salary.

“I’ve known this person for years from functions but I never thought anything of it when people told me he said he was my sister.

“Now because I knew him, the stores said they couldn’t refund me.

“I mean, he shopped at Truworths, Aldo, Mac, and police even have pictures of him withdrawing money.”

Roberts said that since she re-shared her story on Thursday morning, people have been coming forward with shocking stories of their own.

“This one lady said he raped her boyfriend.

“They were asleep on a sofa at a party and he woke her up telling her to go sleep in the room. Next thing she knew, her boyfriend told her he had woken up to find this guy f**king him.”

According to Rhoshi’s Instagram profile, he is a “Celebrity publicist, wardrobe stylist, model and Kuli Roberts’s Lil sister”.

On his Facebook page he has been mentioning Roberts since 2011 and has multiple pictures of her.

In 2012, he said he was “doing Rosebank” with her and chilling with her at Kyalami Estate playing 30 Seconds.

In 2014, he was going to the J&B Met with her and “making it rain” with her at Club Coco in Sandton along with his “best friend”, actress Khanyi Mbau.

“This person is gonna keep doing this and is obviously still doing this unless he gets stopped,” said Roberts, who had lost faith in the police’s handling of her case and their inability to find the fraudster.
