Willowvale - A man was arrested after his girlfriend was fatally stabbed in Willowvale, Eastern Cape police said on Wednesday.
Captain Jackson Manatha said the 19-year-old woman was stabbed in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
“It is alleged that the two were enjoying New Year celebrations when they quarrelled about something,” said Manatha.
The man drew his knife and stabbed the woman in her upper body. She died at the scene. Police found the 34-year-old alleged killer at the scene with the suspected murder weapon. He was arrested.
He would appear before the Willowvale Magistrate's Court on Thursday. - Sapa
