Cape Town - A man was shot and killed at the taxi rank in Nyanga on Thursday night.
Police spokesman Warrant Officer Derek van der Merwe said the man was on his way to pick up a relative at the rank when he was approached by a group of gunmen.
They shot him, and he died at the scene.
“The suspects fled on foot.”
A murder case is being investigated by police. No arrests had been made at the time of going to print.
The shooting follows a taxi war that gripped routes across the city this year.
However, police did not say whether the murder was linked to an ongoing dispute over taxi routes.
