Durban – A 35-year-old man was shot dead shortly after the morning rush hour on one of Durban’s main roads on Wednesday.

Police spokesman Major Thulani Zwane said that the man was killed on Queen Nandi Drive by two men who then drove off in a VW Polo in the direction of KwaMashu.

“We don’t know what the motive was. It looks like they were all together and they brought him there and that’s when it happened.”

He said a case of murder had been opened at the Greenwood Police station.

Netcare 911 spokeswoman Athlenda Mathe said that paramedics who arrived at the scene were unable to save him.
