Pietermaritzburg - The body of a woman who was missing for a week was found on Sunday in a shallow grave in Sweetwaters near Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

Phumzile Precious Mkhize, 42, was last seen at work in KwaMashu on June 6, Colonel Jay Naicker said.

She was leaving with a man and they left in her car.

“On Sunday (June 8) her family realised that she was missing and reported her missing to police,” Naicker said.

Mkhize's car was recovered by police and three men were arrested on Monday.

A 26-year-old man was arrested on Saturday and her body was found on Sunday.

The men are expected to appear in the Ntuzuma Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
