Port Elizabeth - More than 100 people were arrested between Friday and Tuesday in King William's Town, Eastern Cape police said.

Lieutenant Siphokazi Mawisa said a 40-year-old man was arrested for stabbing a 48-year-old man in Ohlson, Stutterheim.

Mawisa said 10 people were arrested for drunken driving, others for possession of dagga, robbery, housebreaking and theft, drunk and disorderly behaviour, and assault.

“Police are more busy in this festive season and they will make sure that the communities are safe and secure by patrolling the streets and arresting those who break the law,” she said.

All those arrested were expected to appear in the King William's Town Magistrate Court on Tuesday.
