Rustenburg - A 24-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a 25-year-old woman in Tlhabane near Rustenburg, North West police said on Monday.
Police spokesperson Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said the man was arrested on Sunday.
“According to reports, the victim was with her boyfriend inside a car when her former boyfriend saw the couple and approached them. The former boyfriend allegedly dragged the victim out of the car and that compelled the boyfriend to drive away.”
He allegedly forcefully took the woman to his place where he allegedly raped her. The woman managed to free herself and went to the police to report the matter.
“The suspect was traced and apprehended and is expected to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court tomorrow [Tuesday],” he said.
