Drugs with a street value of R8 million were seized during an operation in Cape Town, police said on Tuesday.

On Monday night, the Hawks and Crime Intelligence arrested a 39-year-old Nigerian man in possession of two kilograms of tik, said Lieutenant-Colonel Andre Traut.

After he was arrested, his flat and club were searched as well as an apartment in Buitenkant Street which police believed was used to manufacture drugs.

The drugs included cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and speed.

R250 000 in cash was also seized as police believed it was the proceeds of drug dealing.
