Johannesburg -

Musician Ringo Madlingozi will face a charge of tax fraud in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

The Xhosa-singing musician allegedly failed to pay his workers' Pay As You Earn (PAYE) contributions to the South African Revenue Service (Sars), but had been deducting it from their salaries since 1999.

He was alleged to owe Sars for both PAYE and Value Added Tax.

He appeared in court briefly last month and the case was postponed. - Sapa
