Rustenburg - A group of armed men made off with undisclosed amount of money after staging a robbery at a bus depot in Maboloka near Brits, North West police said on Monday.

Police spokesperson Captain Paul Ramaloko said armed men stormed a bus depot and took a substantial amount of money on Sunday around 1pm.

“The gang entered a gate of the depot in a vehicle and drove towards the office. They held the security guards at gunpoint before they broke the security gate leading to the safe. As soon as they accessed the safe, they demanded the keys, but after they could not get them they blew the safe open and made off with cash.”

Ramaloko said police in Letlhabile arrested one man in connection with the robbery.

“It is hoped that the arrested suspect will lead the police to his accomplices. A search for the four men is currently underway. The arrested suspects will appear in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate’s Court soon,” said Ramaloko.
