Cape Town - Eastern Cape police nabbed a man who apparently robbed a woman after he tried to pick her up and she rejected him.
Ngqamakhwe police arrested the 25-year-old man after community members caught him.
“The allegation is that a 25-year-old woman was travelling from Ndenxe village to Ntabeni village (in the Eastern Cape) on Saturday at about [2pm]. While she passed near a certain forest she met a man unknown to her,” police spokesman Captain Jackson Manatha said.
“The man stopped her and persuaded her to fall in love with him. The request of the man was rejected. The man became furious and robbed the woman of her cellphone and a small amount of money. The woman cried out bitterly,” he said.
Residents caught and handed him cops.
“The suspect was arrested and charged with common robbery. The cellphone and undisclosed small amount of money were also recovered.”
