The condition of a Limpopo farmer's wife, who was left a paraplegic after a farm attack two weeks ago, has deteriorated, Beeld reported on Friday.

Gloudien van Rensburg, 62, had been in the Limpopo Mediclinic, in Polokwane, since the attack on June 20, in which her husband Johan, 77, was shot dead next to her.

According to the newspaper, she was paralysed from the neck down during the attack, and suffered a stroke earlier this week.

Doctors summoned her children to the hospital on Thursday and said they had to prepare for the worst.
