Six in court for Free State farm attack

Bothaville - Six people arrested in connection with a farm attack and robbery have appeared in the Bothaville Magistrate's Court, Free State police said on Thursday.

They were arrested on Tuesday and appeared in court on Wednesday on charges of conspiracy to commit a crime and robbery, said Captain Stephen Thakeng.

Henry Ofoha, 39, Paulus Radebe, 38, Johannes Koalepe, 42, Stoffel Maloisane, 31, Lebelo Mochoa, 43, and Prince Sunny Asagwara, 34, would remain in custody until their next appearance on Wednesday. said Captain Stephen Thakeng.

Five of them allegedly held up a farmer, gardener and domestic worker near Bothaville in November and stole cash, a watch, jewellery, cellphones, five hunting rifles, a shotgun, and a vehicle.

The sixth man was a farm worker who was thought to have been involved, said Thakeng.
