Johannesburg - A 13-year-old street child appeared briefly in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate's Court on Wednesday in connection with the murder of a 13-year-old boy on New Year's Eve, it was reported on Thursday.
Archibald Lethabele was stabbed in the chest at about 11pm in Bophelong and died, Beeld reported.
“The children bumped into each other in the street, but it's not clear what exactly happened or what the reasons were.... Archibald was stabbed with a knife,” said Warrant Officer Kinnie Steyn.
“What complicated the investigation is that the suspect was a street child, but they managed to track him down and he was arrested on Monday.”
The alleged murderer was being kept in a place of safety, he said. - Sapa
