Teen on the run after uncle’s fatal stabbing

Johannesburg - A 16-year-old boy who allegedly stabbed his uncle to death after an over house keys is on the run, police in the Free State said on Tuesday.

Meloding police said that they “are looking for a 16-year-old boy, who allegedly murdered his uncle on July 15 at about 19:50 at Stilte Park, Meloding”.

“It is alleged that the 16-year-old was with his 30-year-old uncle Mohlouwa Klaas and cousin Pule Klaas when an argument ensued between them about house keys,” said the police in a terse statement.

The police said the suspect allegedly took out a knife and stabbed his uncle before fleeing the scene on foot.

“Pule summoned Meloding police and emergency services. Mohlouwa was certified dead at the scene. A case of murder was registered for further investigation. The 16-year-old is still at large.”
