Cape Town - A 15-year-old boy has died after he was shot in the head moments after he apparently asked a neighbour for a slice of bread.

The teen who has only been identified as Wade, was shot and killed on Monday just after 7:30pm while he was standing in Shepherd Court, Lavender Hill.

It is believed Wade had asked one of his neighbours for a slice of bread and moments later he was shot. It is not clear if the killer was known to the teen or not.

On Tuesday, Wade’s family were too distraught to speak to the Daily Voice.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana, confirmed the shooting and says cops have made no arrest yet.

“Upon their arrival (police) found a body of a 15-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to his head."

“A case of murder is being investigated. No arrests have been made.”
