Captain FC Van Wyk said an inquest docket has been registered for investigation.

“Kraaifontein SAPS Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a one-year-and-10-month old boy,” he said.

“According to available information, a teacher at the Educare Centre in Wallacedene found the boy on Friday at about 9.39am.

The Daily Voice spoke to the crèche owner on Monday, who didn’t want to comment without the boy’s parents’ permission.

The parents were not available for an interview because they were at the morgue to identify their child’s body.
