Tshwane cops seize stolen cables worth R160 000

Johannesburg - Tshwane Metro Police officers on Wednesday confirmed they had confiscated copper cables valued at R165 000 and arrested one suspect.

Metro police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said the latest arrest and confiscation happened in Pretoria West on Monday.

“An estimated value of R100 000 copper cables, weighing 864kg found, belonged to the City of Tshwane, and the other 100kg cables estimated at R65 000 belonged to Telkom,” said Mahamba.

Mahamba said Members of the community were encouraged to report any crime to TMPD on 012 358 7095/6 or to the nearest police station.
