Johannesburg - A 33-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly neglecting her child in Moletsane, Soweto, Gauteng police said on Monday.
She apparently locked her two-year-old son in their house on Sunday night while she went drinking, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.
“The neighbours alerted the police and the boy was removed from the house.”
He was taken to a place of safety. The woman would appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
