Durban - A trial involving five people accused of human trafficking and keeping a brothel was adjourned early on Wednesday in the Durban Regional Court.
Defence attorney Mbuyiselo July, for Patrick Zweni, asked the court for time to consult with his client as he had not been able to do so during lunch break.
Dr Genchen Rugnath, his wife Ravina, Zweni and two others are accused of human trafficking and keeping a brothel in Durban's Point area, where children as young as 12 were kept.
The other two are Nonduzo Dlamini and Bhabha Dubazini.
All five have pleaded not guilty to 156 charges including assault, rape, sexual exploitation of a child, and racketeering.
The trial continues on Thursday. - Sapa
