ANC begins 2-day lekgotlaComment on this story
Cape Town -
The ANC is holding a two-day national executive committee lekgotla from Friday during which it is expected to finalise its action plans in time for next week’s cabinet meeting.
Discussions will probably focus on ensuring the swift implementation of delivery projects in line with the May 7 election undertakings.
These are centred on creating six million job opportunities over the next five years, alongside other measures to boost economic growth on the back of an ambitious infrastructure development programme.
It is understood the Lwandle evictions and the cholera outbreak in Bloemhof, North West, during which at least three babies died, could come under scrutiny because discussions are expected to deal with solving delivery challenges from the start of the new administration.
At next week’s cabinet meeting, discussions are set to centre on the National Development Plan, a vision to reduce poverty and inequality by 2030. It is understood the programme will form the basis of strategic discussions to ensure synergy between plans and implementation.
