Cape Town – The ANC Youth League (ANCYL) in the Western Cape on Wednesday said it lauded its members who participated in the removal of the #ZumaMustFall banner from a block of flats in Cape Town recently.

“We believe that it was a defence of democracy,” said ANCYL provincial chairperson Muhammad Khalid Sayed.

Addressing members of the media, Sayed referred to action taken by members of the ANCYL who, on Saturday, removed an illegally erected billboard declaring, “Zuma Must Fall”.

Sayed said the declaration insinuated that the black majority were incapable of making sound leadership decisions.

He said that those who wanted Zuma to fall should take their grievances to the polls and campaign there.

The ANCYL also alerted media to their upcoming march, #EndRacism, which is scheduled for Friday.

“All people who detest racism will be in attendance,” said Sayed.

At the end of the march, a memorandum would be handed over to leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA) Mmusi Maimane – whom the ANCYL called a coward for failing to stand up to racists within the oppoistion – or a party representative.

The march would start at Keizergracht and conclude at the federal office of the DA in Mill Street.
